Heat Trust is an independent, non-profit organisation whose goal is to ensure standards are met in supply and customer service. Schemes which register with Heat Trust must demonstrate they can deliver to a high standard, similar to regulated utilities and Heat Trust have the power to impose fines on schemes which fall short of this.

The Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers are dedicated to setting the standards for building services work. They were instrumental in the formation of the Heat Network Code of Practice and creating the Heat Network Consultant Register. Their range of guidance and codes are recognised as a leading resource in the industry.
