Energetik

Energetik Energy Centre (In Progress)

Executive Summary

Energetik employed Vital Energi to gain planning permission for an energy centre and heat network within the London Borough of Enfield, which will fuel the Meridian Water Development.

  • boiler
    60MW 6 x 10MW boilers
  • thermal-stores
1,693,000 litres of water held in the 2 thermal stores

Project Overview

Energetik employed Vital Energi to design, build, operate and maintain the Meridian Water Heat Network (MWHN) in the London Borough of Enfield. The network shall consist of an energy centre and underground pipework and will use waste heat from the nearby North London Waste Authority (NLWA) incineration plant. Low-carbon heat will then be distributed to nearby consumers, the most significant of which will be the Meridian Water development, an 82-hectare mixed-use site including 10,000 homes, a new train station, workplaces and open spaces.

The scale of this project makes it a hugely important opportunity for Enfield to lower their CO2 emissions. By harnessing waste heat from the nearby waste to energy plant, thousands of homes and businesses will be heated in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way
