Vital Energi's twin steel pre-insulated pipes are suitable for district heating and district cooling applications. They can be supplied with or without Aluminium Diffusion barriers. They are constructed of a carbon steel service pipe, polyurethane (PUR) foam insulation and High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) outercasing. The Twin steel pipe system is a bonded system manufactured according to BS EN253, this means the steel carrier pipe, insulation and outer casing are moulded together to form a solid unit. Thus, the expansion movements of the steel carrier pipe will be transferred to the outer casing via the foam insulation.
The twin steel per-insulated pipes are available in three insulation thicknesses Series 1 & 2 and 3 are manufactured in 6 and 12m and 16m lengths as standard. The pipes are supplied with two copper wires imbedded in the polyurethane (PUR) insulation; these wires are used to identify any leaks in the system.
In Traditional manufactured TwinPipes the polyurethane (PUR) insulation has a guaranteed lambda value of 0.027 W/mK.
In Conti manufactured TwinPipes the polyurethane (PUR) insulation has a guaranteed lambda value of 0.023 W/mK.
Vital Energi Traditional Twin steel pre-insulated pipes are available in carrier pipe sizes from O/D 26.9mm to 250mm.
